The order we suggest
- Read the event's official announcement. The artist's or organizer's official site lists which ticket services sell the show and whether there is an overseas sale (often labelled 海外販売 or “for overseas residents”).
- If there is an overseas route, use it. Routes we have found are listed below with what their official pages say.
- If there isn't one, check the domestic service's own rules. Domestic sites generally ask for phone verification; see the comparison table for what each service states about overseas numbers.
- Check how you will receive the ticket before paying — app download, convenience store pickup, venue pickup or emailed QR code.

Services without a confirmed overseas route (yet)
For these services we have not found an official overseas sales page in their help pages. That does not mean one never exists for a specific event — check the event announcement.
- ZAIKO — Overseas route: not confirmed.
- Rakuten Ticket — Overseas route: not confirmed.
If you must use a domestic site
Domestic Japanese ticket sites usually verify a mobile phone number. Methods differ: e+ uses an outbound call that you make to a number on screen, while others send an SMS code. What each service states about overseas numbers is in the comparison. If a service says overseas numbers do not work, a mobile plan that gives you your own Japanese number is one legitimate option — see SIM & eSIM options. No plan can guarantee that a particular ticket site will accept it.
Before you pay: a short checklist
- The event page names the route you are using (overseas page or domestic service).
- You know which name the ticket is under, and that it is yours.
- You know how the ticket is delivered and when (some appear only 2 days before the show).
- Your payment card is accepted on that route (overseas routes list their cards).
- If an app is needed, your phone model and number meet the service's conditions.
- You have read the cancellation / no-refund terms on the event page.
